Buze hidratate / Keep your lips hydrated

  • beti necesarul zilnic de apa. Asta inseamna sa aveti intotdeauna o sticla de apa la indemana. Sunt recomandati 2-3l pe zi;

  • optati pentru balsamuri de buze cu vitamina E, unt de shea, ceara de albine, ulei de jojoba sau de cocos;

  • folositi umidificator de camera. Umezeala ajuta la hidratare;
  • apelati la exfoliere din cand in cand;
  • folositi crema de protectie solara;

Our lips act as a sponge. When exposed to humidity, they absorb the water and plump up. When dehydrated, they dry and shrink. Now that the cold is here, the exposure is maximum becuase of the wind and the low temperatures, and they risk dehydration. Also, the skin on the lips is different than the one on the rest of our body, being very thin, making the blood vessels visible ( which explains the red color), and not having oil glands. So the result is red, rough (and sometimes painful), chapped lips.

Here are some tips to keep your lips wet:

  • drink the appropriate quantity of water. Take a water bottle with you wherever you go. Drinking enough water (the equivalent of at least 9 cups of fluids daily) will keep the body, skin and lips hydrated.
  • use lip balms with vitamin E, beeswax, shea butter, and almond, jojoba or coconut oils.
  • use a room humidifer. It can replace moisture in dry indoor air, keeping your lips (and your skin) hydrated.
  • once in a while, apply lip exfoliators.
  • Apply a layer of a sun-protective product daily;
  • don't make matte forever. Matte lipsticks can be extremely drying.
